🚌 Major Transport Hub Dewas Gate in Ujjain is a significant entry point and transport center of the city. It houses the Dewas Gate Inter-State Bus Stand, also known as Shaheed Raja Bhau Mahakal Bus Stand. This bus terminal serves travelers going to nearby cities like Indore, Dewas, and other parts of Madhya Pradesh. It becomes especially busy during major festivals like Simhastha Kumbh, when thousands of pilgrims use it as a transit point. --- 🛠️ Infrastructure & Issues Despite being an important location, the bus stand lacks modern amenities. Several reports highlight poor maintenance, lack of proper seating areas, and encroachments inside the premises. The passenger waiting hall has allegedly been misused or occupied over time, leaving many travelers without proper rest areas. Municipal authorities have made attempts to clear encroachments and improve the surroundings, but consistent improvement is still awaited. --- 🌆 Location & Connectivity Dewas Gate connects Dewas Road, Indore Road, and other major routes leading out of Ujjain. It is a vital transport link for both local commuters and pilgrims. The area has also hosted cultural and religious processions such as the Baneshwari Kawad Yatra, where welcoming events are organized at the gate.
