if you’re visiting Ujjain, Shree Ganga (Shree Mishthan Bhandar) is a place you simply shouldn’t miss. I got the recommendation from the local guy and I stopped here for breakfast and enjoyed their Poha, Jalebi, fresh milk, and coffee—everything was absolutely delicious and prepared with great quality. The highlight was undoubtedly the milk. Rich, fresh, and incredibly flavorful, it’s easily among the best you’ll find in Ujjain. The Poha, topped generously with sev, paired perfectly with the hot, crispy jalebis, making for a classic Malwa breakfast experience. Beyond breakfast, they also offer an excellent selection of sweets and snacks. Their Rasgulla and coffee were equally impressive, and the menu blends traditional flavors with a modern touch. The café is clean, spacious, and has a pleasant ambience, making it a great place to relax with family or friends. I also visited this place for having dinner 🥘 as well it was just delicious 🤤 savouring their dishes and sweets. The staffs were kind enough and served me well. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience authentic Ujjain flavors in a comfortable setting!
While visiting Shree Ganga Sweet Mart in Freeganj to buy local sweets and namkeen, I discovered their restaurant on the first floor and decided to try their Dahi Vada and Pav Bhaji. Although I wasn't particularly hungry, the Pav Bhaji turned out to be the best I have ever tasted, surpassing everywhere I have eaten from North to South India. The vegetables in pavbhaji were blended to such a perfect consistency that the flavor was truly exceptional, Usually food doesn't appeal when you aren't hungry, but here every bite was so delicious that I wanted more despite being full. The Pav was incredibly spongy and perfectly grilled in butter to a half crispy texture, which elevated the entire dish. The Dahi Wada was equally impressive. The wadas were exceptionally soft and light, perfectly complemented by creamy chilled sweet curd and a delightful balance of sweet and tangy chutneys. It was so delicious that I found myself wanting more despite being full. I will definitely return with a full appetite next time to explore more of their menu. Highly highly recommend.
An Absolute Must-Visit in Ujjain! If you are in Ujjain, you absolutely have to stop by Shree Ganga (Shree Mishthan Bhandar). We had a hearty spread of Poha, Jalebi, and milk, and it was phenomenal. The Best Milk in Ujjain: The quality of the milk here is simply on another level. Honestly, you cannot get this great a level of milk anywhere else in the city! It is rich, refreshing, and entirely unbeatable. Delicious Poha & Jalebi: The fresh jalebis and the poha generously topped with sev were absolutely delicious and made for the perfect traditional meal. Crucial Tip: To get this specific quality and taste, make sure you visit this exact branch of Shree Ganga located on Dewas Road in Ramkrishna Colony. This place is an absolute must-visit for anyone craving the best local flavors! Highly recommended.
had a satisfying breakfast here after visiting Mahakaleshwar. The place is located in the market area, so if you arrive early, you might find parking nearby. Don’t get confused by the sweet shop at the entrance—the restaurant is actually inside. I’m giving this place 4 stars mainly for the food quality and taste. The kachoris, idli, and poha were absolutely delicious, and the warm jalebis are a must-try! However, the service needs serious improvement. It’s extremely slow and quite frustrating. The person at the self-service counter seemed very unwelcoming, almost as if he was doing customers a favor instead of his job. Orders had to be repeated multiple times, and even then, things were often incomplete—kachoris without chutney, no guidance for basic things like spoons, and sometimes it felt like he was simply ignoring customers. Even while asking for the bill, there was a lack of responsibility, asking us to list items ourselves. Overall, the staff’s attitude really takes away from the experience. The menu is limited for breakfast, which is manageable, but they should definitely work on improving their dhokla. In short, great food but poor service. Worth visiting for the taste, but be prepared for some inconvenience.
There are plenty of good reviews and to add here plus one, the thali was great, especially the sweets were sumptuous including rabdi lassi, also good namkeen options.
